Arab League chief, Lebanese foreign minister discuss regional developments

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy held a phone call today with Lebanon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Youssef Raji to discuss regional developments and the latest events in the Arab world.

According to a statement from the Arab League, both sides agreed to maintain ongoing communication, especially amid the current tense and concerning situation in the region. Fahmy reaffirmed his support for efforts that serve the interests of Arab states, which have consistently respected international law in pursuit of peace and stability.

Lebanon’s foreign minister expressed his country’s support for the secretary-general’s efforts to strengthen the Arab League’s role as a platform for Arab issues. He also confirmed Lebanon’s readiness to contribute to development plans by providing distinguished diplomatic personnel, aiming to enhance the General Secretariat’s ability to address current challenges and advance joint Arab action.
