Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has threatened a forceful response in Beirut's southern suburb if Hezbollah targets settlements in northern Israel, stressing that Israeli forces will not withdraw from the security zone established in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed across the country.

On Tuesday, Katz said Israel is prepared to expand its military operations toward Nabatieh and the Litani River, making these areas a permanent part of the security zone in southern Lebanon. He also warned that incursions could extend further if Hezbollah joins any Iranian attack against Israel.

Katz explained that the security zone established by Israeli forces inside Lebanese territory covers an area of 700 square kilometers, reiterating that withdrawal will not occur before Hezbollah is fully disarmed throughout Lebanon.
