Trump vows strong response against Iran after attack on US forces in Jordan

Former US President Donald Trump has threatened Iran with a military response after an overnight attack targeted American forces in Jordan, declaring, "We will hit them hard." Meanwhile, Jordan announced it had intercepted eight missiles that entered its airspace.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump said US air defenses intercepted all but one of the Iranian missiles, adding that the remaining missile would not hit anything significant.

Trump also noted that Iran is eager to hold talks, but questioned whether Tehran could be trusted to reach an agreement while US sanctions remain in place.

In Jordan, the armed forces reported intercepting eight missiles that breached the kingdom's airspace early Monday, confirming they were destroyed before posing any threat to citizens or property.

These developments coincided with a US strike on Iran's Larak Island.
