Sudanese army retakes Bara in North Kordofan after fierce clashes

A Sudanese army source said that government forces have regained control of the city of Bara in North Kordofan after heavy clashes with the Rapid Support Forces.

Earlier today, military sources told Al Arabiya that the army had also taken control of the Umm Siyala area in North Kordofan and was conducting extensive sweeps toward Bara.

Yesterday, the government of Sudan’s North Kordofan state reported that a Rapid Support Forces attack on the Burbur area, south of El-Obeid, killed 15 civilians and wounded seven others.

These developments come as fighting continues on several fronts across Sudan, with the army seeking to retake areas held by the Rapid Support Forces, while other regions witness sporadic clashes and drone strikes.
