Yemeni army repels Houthi attack in Jabal Ras, north of Taiz

The Yemeni army announced that its forces have repelled a Houthi attack in Jabal Ras, north of Taiz.

Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council member Abdullah Al-Alimi directly linked the sustainable protection of the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandab to the Yemeni state's ability to assert sovereignty over its territory, coasts, and territorial waters. He stressed that securing maritime corridors cannot rely solely on protecting ships while an armed group remains outside state authority on Yemen's shores.

In Yemen's address to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Al-Alimi said that restoring the Yemeni state and securing Bab Al-Mandab are "one issue, not two," and that supporting the government's economic, security, and military capabilities is an investment in the security of navigation and international supply chains.
