Egypt voices support for Saudi Arabia, condemns Red Sea ship attack

Egypt has reiterated its unwavering support and full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, stressing its outright rejection and strong condemnation of the terrorist attack that targeted a Saudi ship, as well as all assaults on facilities, civilian sites, and means of transport, or any attempts to undermine the safety and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and other international waterways.

In an official statement, Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that protecting the freedom of maritime navigation and ensuring the safe passage of vessels through regional straits and waterways is of utmost importance and non-negotiable, given its direct link to the stability of global trade and the uninterrupted flow of international supply chains.

The statement concluded by reaffirming Cairo's call for strict adherence to the rules and provisions of international law and the United Nations Charter, urging intensified efforts to safeguard international waterways and spare the region the risks of escalation and disruption to maritime routes.
