Yemen condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi cities, voices full support for Kingdom

Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by Houthi militias on Monday, which targeted civilian sites in the Saudi cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif with ballistic missiles and drones. The attacks injured 13 civilians and damaged several homes and vehicles.

In a statement, the ministry said these assaults constitute a blatant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability. The ministry said the attacks reflect the Houthis’ determination to target civilians, spread fear, and escalate tensions, holding the group fully responsible for the attacks and their impact on regional security and stability.

The ministry reaffirmed the Republic of Yemen’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, standing by the Kingdom against all threats to its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. It also expressed support for Saudi Arabia’s right to take necessary measures to protect its citizens, residents, facilities, and resources, in accordance with international law.

Yemen reiterated its rejection of the use of its territory as a launchpad for attacks on neighboring countries, and called on the international community to take a firm stance to halt Houthi attacks, cut off the group’s funding and arms supplies, and support the Yemeni government in restoring state institutions and exclusive control over weapons and sovereign decisions. The ministry extended its wishes for a swift recovery to all those injured, and for security and safety for Saudi Arabia and its people.
