Israel issues tender for 627 new settlement units in north Jerusalem

Jerusalem Governor Adnan Ghaith said that Israel has issued a tender to construct 627 new settlement units on land in the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem.

This move comes amid warnings that Israel is exploiting regional tensions and the situation with Iran to impose new realities on the ground in the occupied territories.

According to Hebrew media reports, the United States is pressuring Israel to agree to a two-week ceasefire in Gaza to implement a plan to disarm Hamas.
