Trump aides seek to ease tensions with Iran ahead of US elections

Four informed sources have revealed that aides to US President Donald Trump are working to prevent an escalation of conflict with Iran, fearing that Republicans could face defeat in the upcoming midterm elections scheduled for November.

The sources explained that a temporary de-escalation could give the US military an opportunity to rebuild its stockpiles of precision munitions, which have been significantly depleted, according to Al Arabiya.

White House officials also stated that Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are among the senior officials supporting efforts to keep the conflict with Tehran relatively quiet until November.

The individuals, who requested anonymity, said White House officials may consider intensifying military action after the November 3 elections, although a return to full-scale war is not guaranteed.

They also noted that the US administration is currently focused on increasing economic pressure on Tehran in an attempt to secure concessions in any future negotiations.
