US defense secretary tells Senate Pentagon urgently needs more funding

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told a Senate committee that the Pentagon is in urgent need of additional funding, according to Al-Sharq.

His remarks come amid the ongoing US-Iran war. Earlier, Hegseth warned Tehran that the US would strike Iran tenfold if attacks on ships continued.

At a White House press conference, Hegseth said Iran had "missed every opportunity for engagement and dialogue," adding that US President Donald Trump has multiple options to address the situation.
