Major General Siddig Abdelrahman Ander, commander of Group 15 in the Rapid Support Forces, has announced his defection from the RSF and his decision to join the Sudanese army, marking a new development within the force, according to Al Arabiya and Al Hadath sources.

In addition to leading Group 15, Ander also headed the RSF's mobilization, recruitment, and call-up committee, the same sources said.

In a separate development, several drones targeted the power station in Shendi, Nile River State, northeast of Khartoum, destroying the facility and causing widespread power outages across most neighborhoods, according to Al Arabiya and Al Hadath.

Sources reported flames rising from the station after the attack, which came just hours after airstrikes hit the Um Dabaker power station in White Nile State, leading to blackouts there and in parts of Kordofan.

These attacks are part of a series of strikes on electricity, fuel facilities, and other vital sites in several Sudanese states in recent days, including a power station and fuel depot in Al Manaqil, Jazira State, a petroleum products pumping station in Haya, Red Sea State, as well as the Merowe Dam and Al-Ghazali transformer station in the Northern State.
