Kremlin declines to comment on reported Ukraine talks in September

The Kremlin on Tuesday declined to comment on Ukrainian expectations of a possible new round of talks with Russia in September that could include the United States.

According to Reuters, Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said he had seen media reports about the proposal but could not make any specific statements. This comes after the head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's office said representatives from Ukraine, Russia, and the United States might meet next month.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Tuesday that Russia had not received any proposals from Ukraine or other parties regarding the resumption of negotiations.

Commenting on reports in some media outlets about the possibility of resuming talks, Zakharova told Russia's Sputnik agency: "There are no proposals from that side (Ukraine) or from any other parties on this matter."
