Palestinian presidency warns of rising Israeli actions in Jerusalem

The Palestinian presidency on Monday warned of the dangers posed by what it described as systematic Israeli escalation against occupied Jerusalem and its holy sites, stressing that “the continued incursions by settlers and Israeli government ministers into Al-Aqsa Mosque for the third consecutive day represent a failed attempt to impose new realities that will not grant the occupation any legitimacy.”

Palestinian presidential spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh said these “provocative and condemned incursions constitute a blatant violation of the historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Abu Rudeineh affirmed that “Israeli measures will not create any right or legitimacy in occupied Jerusalem, nor will they succeed in undermining the steadfast Palestinian right to Jerusalem as the capital of the independent State of Palestine.”
