Houthis targeting Mokha for its strategic location, analyst says

Political analyst Mubarak Al-Ati said Houthi militias are determined to target Mokha because of its vital strategic location, describing the city as a lifeline for Yemenis.

Speaking in an interview with Al Ekhbariya TV, Al-Ati added that the Houthis seek to control the Bab Al-Mandab Strait to further their aggression against key waterways, which they have so far failed to close.

The Yemeni army earlier announced that Houthi forces targeted Mokha port with six ballistic missiles, killing a port security officer, leaving two sailors missing, and injuring eight civilians.
