Senior Houthi commander killed in Taiz clashes, casualties reported

A senior Houthi commander, Ali Saleh Al-Harbi, also known as Abu Ali Al-Harbi, was killed during ongoing clashes in Taiz province, southwest Yemen, according to Yemeni military sources.

Al-Harbi previously served as the security chief of Dhamar province, appointed by the Houthis, before being named commander of one of the militia's brigades in the Fourth Military Region.

The same clashes resulted in the death of another Houthi fighter, the injury of six others, and the capture of one more, according to sources from the National Resistance media in Yemen's western coast.

The sources added that the captured fighter is from a village in Al-Hada district and had held a position in the militia's military training sector.

These losses come amid ongoing fighting in which sources say the Houthis have suffered significant human and material losses, including the deaths of several commanders, across various fronts such as Taiz and Hodeidah.
