Egypt announces release of eight sailors kidnapped off Somalia

Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the release of eight Egyptian sailors who were kidnapped aboard the vessel M/T Eureka off the coast of Somalia's Puntland region since May.

In an official statement, the ministry said that relevant authorities closely monitored the case from the outset, working to secure the sailors' release and ensure their safety.

The ministry added that instructions have been given to the concerned agencies to receive the sailors and check on their physical and psychological well-being upon their arrival.

Meanwhile, official arrangements are underway to facilitate the sailors' return to Egypt as soon as possible, as well as to help them reconnect with their families.
