Russian strikes hit military, port infrastructure in Kyiv and Odesa

Russia's Ministry of Defense announced that its forces carried out strikes on military industry facilities, as well as fuel and energy sites in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and its surroundings, noting that the attacks targeted facilities supporting the operation of Ukrainian ports used to store military cargo in Odesa and nearby areas overnight.

In a statement carried by Russia's Sputnik agency, the ministry said: "As a result of an attack using precision weapons and long-range drones, military and industrial facilities, along with fuel and energy stations in Kyiv and its vicinity, were damaged. These sites are involved in the production of missiles, drone systems and their components, as well as supplying fuel to the Ukrainian armed forces."

The statement added: "Through a large-scale strike, Russian forces inflicted damage on infrastructure in Odesa and surrounding areas, including the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk, which are used to store military cargo, fuel, and lubricants, and to support the operation of Ukrainian ports."

According to the statement, the Russian defense ministry emphasized that it is targeting infrastructure used by the Ukrainian armed forces to reduce the military and economic capabilities of Kyiv's forces. To achieve this, Russian forces are deploying attack drones and long-range precision weapons capable of destroying any target in Kyiv and across Ukraine.
