Iran relays conditions to US via Qatari mediator

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei said Tehran communicated with the United States in New York through a Qatari mediator, relaying conditions that include ending the war on all fronts and halting what it described as 'American acts of aggression.'

Baghaei, according to Reuters, added that Iran's conditions also include lifting the maritime blockade, ending the economic war, and releasing Iranian assets.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump warned in a speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York yesterday that he could 'obliterate' Iran if a deal to end the conflict could not be reached, though he also suggested an agreement may be possible soon amid diplomatic efforts at the UN.

For its part, Iran's armed forces rejected Trump's remarks at the UN as 'propaganda,' stating that their response would be 'full readiness to deliver harsher and more unpredictable blows to aggressors.'

They said these statements reflect Washington's strategic predicament in its aggression against the Iranian people, and that repeating baseless claims and threats, especially as the US military is stretched thin, is less a sign of strength than of strategic weakness.
