The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that its forces had shot down 902 Ukrainian drones and struck seven energy infrastructure facilities and a data center in Ukraine during a large-scale overnight attack. The ministry said the strikes targeted sites reportedly used by the Ukrainian military.

In a statement, the ministry detailed that its forces targeted two heating and power stations in Kyiv, a similar station in the Kyiv region, a thermal power plant, and a power substation. Additionally, two heating and power stations and a thermal power plant in Kharkiv were hit, with one reportedly supplying power to Ukrainian forces in southeastern Kharkiv region.

The ministry added that its forces struck a data center in Kyiv, which it claimed was used for gathering intelligence on Russian armed forces. The attack was carried out using ground-launched missiles and long-range attack drones, according to the statement.

Former US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Ukraine and Russia had agreed to what he described as an "energy sector truce." However, Ukraine said it learned of the alleged agreement through media reports, while the Kremlin stated only that unspecified communications on the matter were ongoing.

Meanwhile, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, CEO of Ukraine's state railway company Ukrzaliznytsia, said on Wednesday that Russian forces targeted company facilities in a major overnight attack.

In a statement on his Facebook account, Pertsovskyi said waves of strikes hit the regions of Kharkiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Ternopil.
