Turkish F-16 fighter jet crashes during training flight in Yalova

The Turkish Ministry of Defense said an F-16 military fighter jet crashed on Wednesday during a training flight in Yalova province in the northwest of the country.

The ministry stated in a release that the pilot ejected by parachute and survived the incident, according to Reuters.

The statement added that the cause of the crash will be determined following a detailed investigation at the site.

Videos published by local media showed a column of black smoke rising from a field after the aircraft went down.
