Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Israeli government sees peace as obstacle, not goal

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has condemned Israel, the occupying power, for continuing to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, escalating its aggression, and committing further massacres against Palestinian civilians. The ministry asserted that Israel does not view peace as a goal, but rather as an obstacle to completing what it described as genocide and the implementation of forced displacement plans.

In an official statement posted on its X platform account today, the ministry said, "The ongoing Israeli occupation violations of the ceasefire agreement, which stems from the US president's peace plan, and its failure to fulfill its obligations under the deal, as well as undermining the persistent and responsible efforts of mediators, clearly demonstrate the lack of political will by the Israeli government to end the aggression, respect its commitments, and halt its plans for genocide and displacement against the Palestinian people in Gaza."

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates further noted that "the continued targeting of civilians, vital infrastructure, and humanitarian facilities, along with ongoing policies of killing, destruction, and starvation despite a clear ceasefire agreement, confirms that the current Israeli government does not treat the agreement as a binding commitment, but rather as a temporary tool to manage its aggression and reshape realities on the ground to serve its own objectives."
