UNIFIL reports 125 Israeli airspace violations over Lebanon in four days

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) recorded 125 Israeli violations of Lebanese airspace between Thursday and Sunday, with total flight time exceeding 418 hours. The incursions involved surveillance drones as well as armed drones flying near or over UNIFIL positions.

According to the United Nations, citing UNIFIL, Israeli military activity remains intense in southern Lebanon, including engineering works, troop movements, and artillery shelling in both the eastern and western sectors and areas north of the Litani River, as well as operations within Lebanese territorial waters.

UNIFIL also reported that its peacekeepers faced restrictions on their freedom of movement due to temporary roadblocks set up by the Israeli army. One patrol was pelted with stones, and the force discovered unexploded ordnance and improvised explosive devices, which were safely destroyed.
