WHO reports over 2,400 Ebola cases in Democratic Republic of Congo

The World Health Organization announced on Tuesday that 2,423 confirmed cases of Bundibugyo strain Ebola virus have been recorded in the Democratic Republic of Congo, along with 967 deaths, as the disease continues to spread across five provinces.

The organization said it has strengthened its response by deploying rapid intervention teams, expanding healthcare services, and implementing safe burial procedures for victims.

A WHO statement noted that the situation has stabilized in some affected areas, while efforts to contain the outbreak and limit the virus’s spread are ongoing.

Health authorities continue to closely monitor the situation, carrying out awareness campaigns and precautionary measures to prevent further infections.
