Three arrested for attempting to smuggle over 2,700,000 Amphetamine tablets

The Official Spokesman of the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) Capt. Mohammad Al-Nujaidi said that the security follow-up of activities of criminal networks that plan to smuggle narcotics into Saudi Arabia resulted in foiling an attempt to smuggle 2,700,000 Amphetamine tablets.

The GDNC caught the gang trying to smuggle the contraband hidden inside the roof of a truck trailer. The GDNC also carried out the operation in cooperation with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority in Jeddah Customs.

Capt. Al-Nujaidi also said that they arrested three members involved in the case. They included Sudanese and Syrian nationals and a displaced person.

He added that the detainees apprehended and faced initial legal procedures before sending them to the Public Prosecution.
