Trabzon street to be named after Mohamed Salah

The Yemra Municipality in Trabzon, Turkey, has announced it will name a street in the Koshustu district after Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah, who will reside there during his time with Trabzonspor.

This move comes after Salah signed with Trabzonspor on a contract running until the end of next season, following his departure from Liverpool at the close of the previous campaign.

Mustafa Beyik, mayor of Yemra, told the Turkish website "61 Saat" on Sunday that the municipality is delighted to host a global star like Mohamed Salah. He noted that Salah's presence will boost the area's reputation and expressed hope that his stay will become permanent.

Meanwhile, renovation work is underway on the house where Salah will live in Koshustu.

The website also reported that Yemra Municipality is preparing to rename Selvi Street to Mohamed Salah Street following a city council decision, with the new name to be officially adopted this week.
