First Crown Prince Camel Festival cups to kick off Saturday in Taif

The first cups of the eighth Crown Prince Camel Festival will kick off on Saturday at the historic Taif track, coinciding with the conclusion of the "Haqayeq" category competitions. Evening session prizes will exceed 6 million riyals (SAR).

The festival began last Thursday under the patronage of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and will continue until September 13. It is organized by the Saudi Camel Federation, with total prize money exceeding 50 million riyals.

The "Haqayeq" category concluded its contests after three days featuring 92 races, each covering a distance of two kilometers. The total prize pool for this category reached 13.3 million riyals, amid fierce competition among participating camels.

Final race prize details

The final session cups will take center stage on Saturday. The winner of the "Ramz Baqar – General" race will receive 700,000 riyals, while 500,000 riyals will go to the champions of both the "Ramz Baqar – Open" and "Saudi Production Baqar – General" races.

In the Qaadan races, the "Ramz Qaadan – General" winner will receive 500,000 riyals, and 400,000 riyals will be awarded to the winners of both the "Qaadan – Open" and "Saudi Production Qaadan – General" races.

The organizing committee has allocated 90,000 riyals per race, distributed among the top ten finishers in the general morning and evening races. Prizes for the six cup races will go to the top five finishers. The total prize money for the final evening session will reach 6.1 million riyals.

Start of the Laqaya category competitions

After the conclusion of the "Haqayeq" category, the festival will move to its second stage on Sunday with the start of the "Laqaya" category, which includes 64 races over four kilometers each, spread across three consecutive days.
