Saudi Chess Federation hosts tournament in Arar to promote mind sports

The Saudi Chess Federation, in cooperation with the Liyaqa Sports Association, held a chess tournament yesterday at Prince Abdulaziz bin Musaed Hall in Arar, attracting several players and chess enthusiasts.

The federation stated that the tournament is part of its ongoing efforts to promote chess and expand its player base across different regions of the Kingdom.

Organizers noted that the event aims to increase the popularity of chess in the community and encourage its practice as a mind sport that helps develop concentration, planning, and strategic thinking skills.

They added that the tournament also seeks to identify talented players and provide a competitive environment that encourages community participation in sports.

Supporting Saudi Vision 2030

The Saudi Chess Federation emphasized that the tournament is part of its programs to promote and develop chess, in partnership with sports and community organizations, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to encourage sports participation, enhance mental skills, and support the discovery of athletic talent throughout the Kingdom.
