Zinedine Zidane's France salary revealed: €300,000 monthly, new bonus structure

New details have emerged about the contract of Zinedine Zidane, head coach of the French national football team, revealing that his monthly salary of €300,000 is the same amount his predecessor Didier Deschamps received. However, the French legend's contract introduces notable changes in how his earnings are calculated.

According to French newspaper L'Équipe, Zidane did not request an exceptional salary despite his global stature. Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation, believes the new coach does not prioritize financial matters, especially after amassing significant wealth during his playing and club coaching career.

The most significant change in Zidane's contract, according to L'Équipe, concerns image rights bonuses. Previously, the national team coach, like the players, received a bonus linked to the team's commercial and sponsorship activities for each match. Each player earned about €22,000 per match, while the coach received two shares—double that amount.

With Zidane's arrival, this bonus for the head coach has been eliminated, resulting in a decrease in his income compared to the previous arrangement. The decision is also linked to Zidane's desire to avoid additional commitments with team sponsors, as he already has contracts with global brands, including Adidas—a direct competitor to Nike, which sponsors the French national team.

To compensate for this change, Zidane and the French Football Federation agreed to larger bonuses tied to major tournaments, particularly the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship.

According to the French newspaper, Zidane's income is now more closely linked to the team's performance in major competitions. The better France performs in international tournaments, the higher the bonuses he can receive, combining a fixed monthly salary with exceptional achievement-based rewards.
