Haaland debuts shaved head, Guardiola reacts with humor

Norwegian striker Erling Haaland surprised his followers on Instagram by sharing photos of his new look, having shaved off his signature long blond hair ahead of the 2026/2027 Premier League season.

The 26-year-old Manchester City forward captioned the photos: "Short hair, don't care."

Haaland also had a playful phone call with his former manager Pep Guardiola, who expressed surprise at Haaland's new haircut and joked, "You're lucky to have hair to cut—I wish I had some."

Haaland asked his former coach if he still follows football, to which Guardiola replied that he reads a bit and is currently watching the Tottenham vs Brentford match.

Guardiola reassured Haaland about his new hairstyle, saying that hair will grow back with time and there's no need to worry.

Haaland made his first Premier League appearance of the season for Manchester City against Bournemouth at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
