Al-Ittihad loans Unai Hernandez to Spain's Girona until 2027

Al-Ittihad has finalized the future of Spanish midfielder Unai Hernandez by approving his loan move to Girona, where he will stay until the end of the 2026-2027 season. The decision comes as part of the club's efforts to restructure the squad and provide Hernandez with an opportunity to regain match fitness.

Hernandez's loan to Girona follows his stint with Al-Ittihad, which began in February 2025 after joining from Barcelona on a three-year contract.

During his time at Al-Ittihad, Hernandez played 10 matches, scoring once and providing three assists, before being loaned out again in the second half of the same season to Al-Shabab.

While at Al-Shabab, Hernandez made 31 appearances, registering one assist but no goals. He now heads to Girona for a new experience in Spain's La Liga.

Hernandez's contract with Al-Ittihad runs for three years from his arrival in February 2025, while his loan to Girona will last until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
