Real Madrid defeat Inter Milan 2-1 in Champions League opener

Real Madrid began their UEFA Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Italy's Inter Milan on Tuesday night at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, in the group stage of the competition.

Kylian Mbappé and Federico Valverde scored for Real Madrid in the 14th and 23rd minutes, while Carlos Augusto pulled one back for Inter Milan in the 77th minute.

With this result, Real Madrid secured their first three points of the tournament, while Inter Milan suffered their first loss of the season after three consecutive wins in Serie A.
