Riyadh FC signs Egypt’s Trezeguet on free transfer from Al Ahly

Riyadh FC has officially announced the signing of Egyptian winger Mahmoud Hassan, known as 'Trezeguet', on a free transfer from Al Ahly. He will join the club starting from the 2026-2027 season.

The club revealed the deal on Tuesday via its official account on X, sharing a video introduction with the caption: "From the land of the Pharaohs... to the Central School."

Trezeguet's move to Riyadh comes after he mutually terminated his contract with Al Ahly, following a single season back at his boyhood club. The 31-year-old winger played 32 matches across all competitions in the past season, scoring 18 goals and providing one assist, but did not win any trophies.

Trezeguet also represented Egypt at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring once and assisting another goal before beginning a new chapter in the Saudi Pro League.

The Egyptian international has enjoyed a long career abroad, with spells in the English Premier League, Turkish Super Lig, Belgian Pro League, and Qatar Stars League, representing clubs such as Aston Villa, Anderlecht, Trabzonspor, and Al Rayyan.
