Mbappe dazzles Real Madrid fans with Panenka and roulette skills, chases Benzema's record

French forward Kylian Mbappe continued his impressive form for Real Madrid, scoring twice in a 4-1 victory over Sevilla on Sunday in La Liga's ninth round, bringing him closer to the top spot among French scorers in Europe's major leagues.

Mbappe has now scored 97 goals in 114 appearances for Real Madrid, placing him 24th on the club's all-time scorers list, just three goals behind Spanish striker Fernando Morientes.

Across Europe's top five leagues, Mbappe has moved into second place among French scorers in history, reaching 265 goals and surpassing Bernard Lacombe, the former Lyon and Bordeaux legend, by one goal.

Karim Benzema leads the list with 281 goals, 16 ahead of Mbappe, giving the Real Madrid striker a chance to further close the gap this season and challenge for the top spot in the near future.

Mbappe's Panenka: 4 out of 4

Mbappe's brilliance against Sevilla was not limited to his scoring record. He produced moments of skill, netting his first goal after dribbling past defenders with a 'roulette' move reminiscent of Zinedine Zidane's famous goal for Real Madrid against Tokyo Verdy in a 2004 friendly.

His second goal came from a penalty, calmly converted with a 'Panenka' technique, highlighting his precision from the spot.

Statistics show Mbappe has taken 21 penalties in La Liga, opting for the Panenka style four times and scoring on each occasion without missing.

By contrast, he has taken 17 traditional penalties, scoring 13 and missing four, maintaining a perfect Panenka record in the Spanish league.
