Bosic praises Al-Ahli performance as Buric backs Abha to recover

Al-Ahli head coach Marin Bosic expressed his delight with his team’s victory over Abha in the second round of the Saudi Pro League, known as the Roshn League. The match was held last night at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

Speaking at the post-match press conference after Al-Ahli’s 4-0 win, Bosic said he was pleased with his team’s performance, noting that Al-Ahli started the match strongly and controlled the game both with and without the ball from the opening minutes.

He added that Al-Ahli dominated the second half, successfully limiting Abha’s threat and denying them real chances to score, while also extending their lead and delighting the fans. Bosic expressed satisfaction with his side’s attacking display and their ability to create multiple scoring opportunities.

Bosic also praised the players’ level and the tactical discipline shown during periods of possession, highlighting that the team’s quality on the ball and defensive organization helped stop Abha’s counterattacks. He emphasized that there is still room for further improvement in the coming rounds.

For his part, Abha head coach Damir Buric said the match provided many important lessons for his team. He praised Al-Ahli’s performance and acknowledged they deserved the win, adding that early mistakes and a lack of focus in the first ten minutes were key factors in the outcome.

Buric noted that absences and injuries affected his team’s options during the match, but expressed confidence in his players’ ability to overcome the current phase and regain balance in the upcoming rounds.
