Ivory Coast international Yan Diomande, who recently joined Real Madrid, has expressed his ambition to win the UEFA Champions League after seeing the club’s 15 trophies up close, saying that being part of the "biggest club in the world" is a great source of pride for him.

Diomande made these remarks after being unveiled as Real Madrid’s newest signing in the presence of club president Florentino Perez and honorary president Jose Martinez "Piri." The Ivorian winger posed for photos with Perez in front of the club’s 15 Champions League trophies.

Speaking to RMTV, Diomande said: "When you see all these trophies, it’s different from seeing them on TV. It gives you a huge desire to win one—why not the Champions League this year?"

Diomande joins Real Madrid on a contract running until 2033, after transferring from RB Leipzig in a deal reportedly worth €125 million, plus €15 million in incentives, making him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

The Ivorian winger added: "I’m proud, because this is the biggest club in the world. These days, everyone dreams of playing for Real Madrid, and I will give my all on the pitch."

Diomande also reiterated his praise for Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who will be managing him at Real Madrid, saying that working with him and playing alongside the club’s stars will be an exceptional experience.

Diomande said: "To be coached by the best manager in the world and share a dressing room with the best players in the world is amazing."
