Asir hosts third Saudi Football Players Association summer camp

The Asir region is currently hosting the third edition of the Saudi Football Players Association’s summer camp for 2026, taking place in Abha from July 25 to August 7. The camp brings together 23 professional players whose contracts with their clubs have ended, as part of a comprehensive program aimed at maintaining their technical and physical readiness and preparing them to return to professional competition ahead of the new sports season.

Organized by the Saudi Football Players Association, the camp is a specialized initiative to support professional players not currently contracted with clubs. The program combines technical and physical training, medical rehabilitation and recovery, as well as awareness and nutrition lectures, all under the supervision of a specialized technical and administrative team. This ensures players remain ready and enhances their competitiveness in the transfer market.

Mohammed Al-Sahlawi, Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Football Players Association, explained that the association announces registration for the camp through its official platforms well in advance. He noted that registration is open to players of all divisions, with age criteria applied once the required number is reached.

For his part, the association’s CEO, Mishari Al-Muqbil, emphasized that as an independent entity dedicated to players’ rights, the association opens registration to all eligible players. He added that most participants in this edition were born in 2003, 2004, and 2005.

Board member Nasser Al-Qahtani stated that Abha was chosen to host the camp due to its moderate climate and suitable environment for physical preparation during the summer, which helps players achieve peak technical and physical readiness before the season begins.
