Key Takeaways
AISaudi national team defender Hassan Tambakti has expressed his delight after defeating the United Arab Emirates and clinching the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup title.
Saudi Arabia secured the Gulf Cup for the fourth time in its history, following a deserved 2-0 victory over the UAE in Tuesday night's final at Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah.
Speaking exclusively to Ajel after the match, Tambakti said: "Thanks to God for this Arabian Gulf Cup title. I dedicate this victory to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince, and to all the great Saudi people who supported us throughout the tournament. We gave everything to make our loyal fans happy, and this title is the result of hard collective work."
He added: "I'm very proud of my teammates' performances today and throughout the competition. We faced a strong and respected side in the UAE in the final, but we managed to impose our style and use our experience to handle the pressure of a final. Without a doubt, this title will be a huge motivation for us in the coming period and future challenges."
With this triumph, Saudi Arabia has now won four Gulf Cup titles, adding to its previous victories in 1994, 2002, and 2003, and ending a wait of more than two decades for the trophy.
