Saudi Arabia’s Lynx team from Dhahran secured first place at the Aramco STEM World Finals, held in Singapore from September 29 to October 7, 2026, with 91 teams from across the world taking part.

Saudi teams won three major awards: Baz from Jeddah received prizes for Best Project Management and Knockout Round, while Lynx also earned Best Team Identity. Saudi teams were nominated for more than 15 out of 22 awards and ranked among the top 10 globally.

Support from Ithra and Saudi teams’ excellence

This achievement was supported by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), an Aramco initiative. The participating teams faced challenges in designing Formula car models, project management, and research and development, allowing them to turn knowledge into practical applications and collaborate as integrated teams.

Farah Abu Shaleh, Acting Head of Programs at Ithra, said the victory reflects the talent and determination of Saudi youth and marks a milestone after five years of participation in the competition, serving as an inspiration for the next generation of innovators and engineers.

Qualification journey and ongoing success

The Lynx team from Dhahran, Baz from Jeddah, Anq from Madinah, and Drain from Al-Ahsa qualified for the global competition after passing the national finals held at Ithra in June 2026, where they claimed the top four spots out of 20 participating teams.

The Saudi teams underwent intensive training programs for over eight months under the supervision of 36 coaches, which contributed to their strong national presence and highlighted students’ skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Registration opens for sixth edition

Meanwhile, Ithra announced the opening of registration for the sixth edition of the Saudi STEM Race last August, with the training journey for participants set to begin in December. The center continues its efforts to invest in culture and support youth through specialized programs that develop skills and foster creativity and innovation.

The Saudi STEM Race has been organized by Ithra since 2022, targeting school students across the Kingdom to help them acquire new skills and gain competitive experience on a global stage.
