Saudi football federation finalizes candidates list for board election

The Saudi Football Federation’s election committee has approved the final list of candidates for president and board members for its sixth term, following the completion of the appeals and application process and the end of the nomination period, in line with the timeline announced on July 16.

The committee had previously revealed the preliminary list of candidates on August 8 and opened the appeals window from August 9 to 13. All appeals were reviewed and, based on the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center’s findings, were accepted procedurally but rejected on substance.

After the appeals stage, the committee continued its procedures according to the set schedule and referred the final list to the 25 eligible clubs for their decision, with no candidate withdrawals reported.

In accordance with Article 8 of the Saudi Football Federation’s election regulations, the committee confirmed the final lists after verifying that all candidates met the stipulated requirements.

An extraordinary general assembly meeting of the Saudi Football Federation is scheduled for Sunday, August 30, in Riyadh.
