Al-Wehda knocks out Al-Shabab to reach King’s Cup last 16

Al-Wehda secured a place in the round of 16 of the King’s Cup after defeating visitors Al-Shabab 3-2 at King Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Makkah, in their round of 32 clash.

Al-Shabab opened the scoring through Mourad Khodari in the 43rd minute, but Al-Wehda equalized in the 56th minute with a goal from Yannick Carrasco. The match ended 1-1 in regular time, sending both teams into extra time.

Just one minute into extra time, Morato put Al-Wehda ahead with a second goal, before Josh Brownhill extended the lead in the 114th minute.

Al-Shabab managed to pull one back late in the match, but Al-Wehda held on to secure a 3-2 victory and continue their campaign in the King’s Cup.
