AFC rejects FIFA's proposal for new commercial entity

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has rejected the mechanism proposed by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) for establishing the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE).

In a statement on Wednesday, the AFC said it had not been consulted about the project prior to its announcement.

The AFC expressed disappointment that such a significant issue was made public before continental federations were given the opportunity to review and discuss it.

The statement concluded by reaffirming the AFC's commitment to contributing to the development of football, stressing that any strategic reforms should be based on partnership, transparency, and consensus.

FIFA announced the proposal to establish the FIFA Forward Enterprise, an independent commercial entity aimed at managing the commercial rights of FIFA tournaments, in a move intended to boost commercial returns and develop football investments.
