Al-Hazem edge Al-Bukayriyah 3-2 to reach King’s Cup last 16

Al-Hazem secured their place in the round of 16 of the King’s Cup after a dramatic 3-2 victory over Al-Bukayriyah on their opponent’s home turf in front of local fans, in a match played on Sunday evening as part of the round of 32.

Al-Hazem started strongly, with Afimico Pululu opening the scoring in the fifth minute, before Saad Al-Muwallad equalized for Al-Bukayriyah in the 27th minute.

Pululu restored Al-Hazem’s lead with his second goal in the 37th minute, and Sultan Tankar extended the advantage with a third goal in the 65th minute.

Hattan Ahmed pulled one back for Al-Bukayriyah in the 68th minute, setting up a tense finish as the hosts pressed for a comeback.

In the 83rd minute, Saad Al-Muwallad found the net again for Al-Bukayriyah, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review for offside.

Al-Hazem held on to their lead until the final whistle, leaving Al-Bukayriyah with a valuable away win and a ticket to the round of 16, where they await the draw scheduled for 3 p.m. next Thursday.
