Antonio Rudiger retires from Germany duty after 86 caps

Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger has ended his international career with Germany, announcing his retirement after 12 years with the national team. Rudiger said his decision aims to give younger players a chance.

The 33-year-old wrote on social media today: "After much thought, it is time to end my journey with the national team and make way for the next generation."

Rudiger earned 86 caps for Germany between 2014 and 2024, appearing in three World Cups and three European Championships.

His only major trophy with the national team was the 2017 Confederations Cup title.
