Saudi Football Federation forms executive committee to address urgent matters, reviews 2026 national teams plan

The board of directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation has approved the formation of an executive committee chaired by Badr bin Suleiman Al-Razeza, the federation's president, to expedite decisions and address urgent matters. The decision was made during the board's first regular meeting, held on Tuesday at the federation's headquarters in Riyadh.

The board emphasized the importance of empowering committees and implementing the highest standards of governance and institutional work to ensure the stability of the sports season. It also approved a package of organizational and operational decisions to support the federation's projects.

The meeting was attended by board members and Acting Secretary-General Majid Al-Sahib, while Vice President Loay Mushabi participated via video conference.

The board also reviewed preparations for the national teams in 2026, including the Saudi national team's training program ahead of the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup, as well as preparations for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup finals.

The meeting discussed the Saudi under-21 team's participation in the 2026 Asian Games, stressing the importance of providing all necessary resources and requirements to ensure technical stability for the national teams in the coming period.

The board addressed strategic directions and targets for the next phase, focusing on achieving a comprehensive transformation across all sectors of Saudi football, enhancing technical and administrative efficiency, and strengthening institutional work within the federation.

At the start of the meeting, the president and board members expressed their gratitude to the national leadership for its ongoing support of the football sector, noting that this backing has strengthened Saudi Arabia's presence at both continental and international levels.

The board also praised the continuous efforts of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee.

The board extended its thanks to the member clubs of the general assembly for their trust in the council to lead the current phase, affirming that this confidence is a responsibility to work collaboratively with all clubs to meet the aspirations of the football community and its fans.
