Messi, Mbappe and Pedri lead tributes after death of Tenerife’s Jesus de Miguel

Football stars, led by Argentina’s Lionel Messi, France’s Kylian Mbappe and Spain’s Pedri, have offered their condolences following the death of Tenerife player Jesus de Miguel, who passed away after a collision with Andorra’s goalkeeper during a Spanish second division match. Real Madrid and Barcelona also joined in mourning, expressing solidarity with the player’s family and club.

Messi posted a condolence message on Instagram, expressing his sorrow at the player’s death: “There are no words to express my sadness... I extend my deepest condolences and prayers for patience and comfort to all his family and friends.”

Kylian Mbappe also paid tribute to the Tenerife player, writing: “Very sad, there are no words. Rest in peace.”

Pedri, Barcelona’s midfielder, shared his shock at de Miguel’s passing, writing: “I am shocked by the death of Jesus de Miguel. My heartfelt condolences to his family and everyone at Tenerife. His memory will remain with us with sincerity and respect. May he rest in peace.”

Tributes were not limited to football stars, as several Spanish clubs, including Real Madrid and Barcelona, also expressed their sympathy to his family and Tenerife.
