Saudi Football Federation concludes match observer training in five regions

The Saudi Football Federation has concluded its match observer training program in five regions across the Kingdom—Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Abha, and Al-Jouf—with the participation of 500 male and 50 female observers.

According to the Federation’s official account on the X platform, the training program aims to develop national talent among match observers and coordinators, raising professionalism through a clear development path that enhances their performance and readiness to manage matches at all levels. The program also included assessments through theoretical and practical tests.

The training featured theoretical workshops explaining the reporting system in line with approved procedures, as well as defining operational standards and a unified match action plan according to the operational level of each match. Match protocols, key challenges, and methods for addressing them were also covered.

On the practical side, the program addressed stadium readiness standards according to FIFA-approved layouts and measurements, stadium lighting requirements, and safety standards, in addition to procedures for implementing security and media operations on the ground.

The department responsible for observers and coordinators will continue to hold regular training programs for match officials, in line with the highest continental and international standards.

In the upcoming season, Saudi Football Federation observers and coordinators are expected to oversee more than 10,000 matches across various domestic and continental competitions for both men and women.
