Supercomputer tips Harry Kane as top Ballon d'Or contender

A supercomputer has released its predictions for the next Ballon d'Or winner, naming England striker Harry Kane as the frontrunner for the 2026 award with a 58% probability.

Kane leads the field by a wide margin over his closest rivals, Lamine Yamal (18%) and Kylian Mbappé, according to a report published by the UK’s The Sun on Wednesday.

The prediction comes after an outstanding season in which Kane scored 61 goals for Bayern Munich and 73 in total for club and country, leading the Bavarian side to the championship.

The 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony is set to take place for the first time in London, at the London Palladium on Monday, hosted by Thierry Henry and Kate Scott, following Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé’s win last year.
