João Félix aims to assist Cristiano Ronaldo’s 1,000th career goal at Al-Nassr

João Félix, Al-Nassr striker, has expressed his ambition to assist Cristiano Ronaldo’s 1,000th career goal. The Portuguese football legend has so far scored 979 goals in his professional journey.

In an interview with Spanish newspaper AS, Félix said playing alongside Ronaldo at Al-Nassr and for Portugal is a great honor, noting that it is an achievement only a select few in football can experience.

An exceptional experience with Ronaldo

The Al-Nassr forward described winning the title last season with Ronaldo as an exceptional moment, adding that he was able to help Ronaldo achieve a goal he had been pursuing since joining Al-Nassr.

Félix added: "We have to enjoy these moments because they won’t last forever, and we will remain present and ready as long as they continue." He also said he often thinks about the possibility of assisting Ronaldo’s 1,000th goal, stating: "I will look for him every time I have the ball when he needs that historic goal."

His view on the Ballon d’Or

Félix also discussed his picks for the Ballon d’Or, saying the award should go to an exceptional player who stands out with his performances.

He nominated young talent Lamine Yamal for the prize, saying Yamal embodies the pure essence of football, despite the strong performances of Kylian Mbappé and Harry Kane. Félix also noted that winning the World Cup is a decisive factor in claiming the award during World Cup years.

Omission from the shortlist

Félix was not among the 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or, despite his impressive displays in the Saudi Pro League and helping Al-Nassr win the title. The list did, however, include his teammate Sadio Mané.
