Spain deserved World Cup 2026 win over Argentina, says sports journalist

Sports journalist Hamza Ishtiyawi said Spain deserved their victory over Argentina and their 2026 World Cup title, noting that the Spanish team dominated the match from start to finish.

Speaking to Al Arabiya FM, Ishtiyawi explained that Spain completely neutralized Argentina, pointing out that Argentina's first real chance came in the 119th minute—evidence, he said, of Spain's success in limiting their opponent's threat.

He added that Spain, under coach Luis de la Fuente, controlled the game in every aspect and proved themselves "masters of possession" thanks to their style of play and ball management.

Ishtiyawi also noted that Lionel Messi was isolated throughout the match due to tight marking, saying: "We did not see Messi in the game, and he posed no threat."

He emphasized that Spain's strength lay in their midfield and ball possession, which gave them the upper hand against Argentina and ultimately secured the title.
