Rodgers hails Al-Qadsiah players after victory over Al-Ahli in Roshn League

Al-Qadsiah head coach Brendan Rodgers praised his players’ performance in their match against Al-Ahli on Tuesday evening, part of the sixth round of the Saudi Pro League.

Rodgers said during the post-match press conference that it was a tough contest and that his team secured an important and deserved win against a strong opponent, noting that Al-Qadsiah continues to work hard and improve.

He added that his side could have scored more goals given the chances they created, emphasizing that Al-Qadsiah did not enter the second half simply to defend their lead, but aimed to extend it, although several opportunities were missed and the players felt the effects of fatigue.

For his part, Al-Ahli head coach Marin Pušić said his team started the match well and shared control with Al-Qadsiah, but conceding three goals in the first half changed the course of the game.

Pušić praised his players’ performance in the second half, noting their successful pressing and ability to narrow the gap by scoring twice, although they were unable to equalize.
